Guide 03 — Add Products by Location
Overview
Products in SMECentral are created once and then assigned to one or more locations. This lets you control which items are available at each branch.
Part A — Add a New Product
Who can do this?
Owner or Manager role.
Steps
- Go to Sales → Products
- From the left navigation, click Sales
-
Select Products
-
Click "Add Product" (top-right button)
-

| Available | Toggle on/off to show or hide this product |
| Location(s) | Select which branch(es) this product is available at |
- Select Locations
- Check the boxes for each location where this product is sold
- A product can be available at multiple locations simultaneously
-
If you leave all locations unchecked, the product will not appear anywhere
-
Click "Save"
GST Note: Australian GST (10%) is included in the price you enter. The system separates GST automatically on invoices and reports.
Part B — Edit Product Availability by Location
To change which locations a product is available at (without editing the price or name):
- Go to Sales → Products
- Find the product and click "Edit"
- Update the Location(s) checkboxes
- Click Save
Part C — Manage Product Visibility
To temporarily hide a product (e.g. out of stock) without deleting it:
- Go to Sales → Products
- Click "Edit" on the product
- Toggle "Available" to OFF
- Click Save
The product will not appear in the POS or online ordering until you turn it back on.
Tips
- Use categories to group products — this speeds up order-taking at the POS
- Upload clear, well-lit product photos — customers see these in the online ordering page
- If a product is only available at one branch (e.g. a seasonal special), assign it only to that location
